Honda Bike Lighting & Wiring Connection Ideas — Step by Step (Full Guide)

            Introduction

Hello friends, welcome to Rajesh Technical.
Today I will tell you any lighting and wiring connection idea of Honda bike step by step.
If your Honda bike has problems like headlight not glowing, indicator not working, horn weak, or wiring short, then this post will help you understand the entire wiring system clearly.
This guide is simple, beginner-friendly and fully practical.

1. Understanding Honda Bike Wiring Color Codes

Before making any wiring connection, you must understand the color codes used in all Honda motorcycle wiring harnesses.

Wire Color Function / Use
Black Power (Ignition ON output)
Green Ground / Negative
Blue/White High Beam
White Low Beam
Yellow Charging Coil / AC Output
Brown Parking Light / Tail Light
Orange Left Indicator
Light Blue Right Indicator
Green/Yellow Brake Light Switch
Pink Fuel Meter Wire

These color codes remain the same in almost all Honda bikes like Shine, SP125, Unicorn, Dream Yuga, Activa (old models) etc.

2. Headlight Wiring Connection (Step by Step)

If your Honda bike’s headlight is not working or glowing low, follow these steps:

Step 1:

From ignition switch → take Black wire.
This wire gives 12V power when the bike is ON.

Step 2:

Connect Black wire → headlight switch input.

Step 3:

Inside the headlight switch:

  • White = Low Beam Output
  • Blue/White = High Beam Output

Step 4:

Connect Green wire to the headlight bulb holder (negative terminal).

Now your high and low beam will work perfectly.

3. Indicator Wiring Connection (Left & Right)

Indicator not working is a common problem.
Follow these steps:

Step 1:

Find the Indicator Flasher/Relay (2-pin or 3-pin).

Step 2:

Relay wiring:

  • Black = Power Input
  • Gray = Blinking Output

Step 3:

From Gray wire, two separate outputs go to:

  • Orange → Left Indicators
  • Light Blue → Right Indicators

Step 4:

All indicator bulbs must connect to Green (negative).

Now both indicators will blink properly.

4. Tail Light & Brake Light Connection

Honda tail light has two separate wires:

Tail Light (Normal Light):

  • Brown → Tail Light (+)
  • Green → Ground

Brake Light (Bright Light):

  • Green/Yellow → Brake Switch
  • Switch output → Brake bulb bright line

When you press the brake, the bulb glows brighter.

5. Horn Wiring Connection

Most Honda bikes use a simple horn wiring system.

Step 1:

Horn positive gets Black wire (12V power).

Step 2:

Negative comes through Horn Switch.
Horn switch gives Green wire (ground) only when pressed.

Circuit completes → horn sounds.

6. Pilot Light / Parking Light Connection

Pilot or parking lights use:

  • Brown wire → Power
  • Green wire → Negative

These lights glow even when bike is not started, only parking switch ON is enough.

7. Battery Charging Wiring (Very Important)

Charging problem means battery not storing power.

Step 1:

From engine coil (stator) → Yellow wires come out.

Step 2:

Yellow wires go into Rectifier/Regulator unit.

Step 3:

Rectifier output wires:

  • Red → Charging Positive to Battery
  • Green → Battery Negative

When rectifier is healthy, battery charges properly.

8. Simple Honda Bike Wiring Diagram (Text Format)

Battery (+) → Fuse → Black Wire → Switches → Lights / Indicators / Horn
Battery (-) → Green Wire → All components
Yellow Wire → Rectifier → Red Wire → Battery Charging
Orange → Left Indicator
Light Blue → Right Indicator
White → Low Beam
Blue/White → High Beam
Brown → Tail Light / Parking Light

This simple map helps you understand the full wiring flow easily.

9. Common Wiring Problems & Solutions

Problem 1: Headlight dim

✔ Check ground wire (Green)
✔ Clean headlight switch
✔ Check white/blue-white connection

Problem 2: Indicators not blinking

✔ Replace 2-pin relay
✔ Check Orange & Light Blue continuity

Problem 3: Battery not charging

✔ Check rectifier output
✔ Check yellow stator wires
✔ Check black ignition wire power

Problem 4: Horn weak

✔ Tighten terminals
✔ Check horn switch continuity
✔ Check battery voltage

Conclusion

With these Honda wiring color codes and step-by-step connection ideas, you can repair 90% of Honda bike lighting and wiring problems at home.
This guide is beginner friendly and helps you understand how each wire works and where it goes.
